Im seeking to iron out in my mind a handful of matters regarding the evidence markings following examining the post concerning the 1892 Together with the “Oval P” marked receiver, and other Discussion board conversations on this subject matter. Right after 1905, Winchester started stamping barrels, then receivers, Using the “WP” Winchester definitive proof.

Receivers made just after 1905 owning no “WP” proof but have barrels With all the “WP” and “Oval P” mark would indicate a mail buy barrel.
I just cannot feel that it had been important to take parts in the store area specified for mail get parts. Any foreman value his paycheck would make sure the parts source stayed ahead of the assembly line!

For barrels & receivers created soon after 1905: Receivers possessing the “WP” proof but no “WP” or “Oval P” evidence around the barrel would point out the barrel was replaced outside of Winchester utilizing a pre-1905 barrel.
I don’t signify to clutter up this thread but figured I would post them for the people men that hadn’t observed the information.
